Boarding Don

St. Andrew’s College invites applications for the role of Boarding Don for the 2025-2026 academic year. Reporting to the Director of Boarding, this position offers a unique opportunity to support and mentor students in a vibrant boarding community.
 
Responsibilities will include:
 
  • Build rapport with students in a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Support the delivery of the boarding curriculum.
  • Mentor and supervise students during on- and off-campus activities.
  • Accompany students to evening appointments or, in emergencies, to access external healthcare.
  • Provide academic support to Upper School students, including homework and test preparation.
  • Assist with classroom support and coverage as needed.
  • Participate in a rotating evening and weekend schedule (3 nights/week, 4 p.m. to midnight).
  • Lead or assist with weekend programming trips.
 
Key qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education required; enrolment in or completion of a Bachelor of Education is preferred.
  • Experience in a boarding school or overnight camp setting is an asset.
  • Ability to contribute to co-curricular life, including athletics or clubs.
  • Mental Health First Aid training is an asset.
  • Coaching experience is considered an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills.
