Seamstress
We invite applications for a part-time opportunity in the role of Seamstress beginning mid-August 2025. This position will directly support the needs of the Sewing Centre by providing sewing services to the school community.
Responsibilities in this role will include:
- 20-30 hours per week with additional hours based on school events
- Operate and maintain industrial and domestic sewing machines, including sergers and related equipment
- Provide alteration and mending services for student clothing
- Embroidery machine epaulettes for Cadets
- Design, produce, repair, and maintain draperies for school windows
- Repair Cadet uniforms and produce specialized items such as shoe spats
- Sew school crests on jackets, athletic uniforms, and other garments
- Maintain a visible and welcoming presence in the Sewing Centre to support the school community
- Demonstrate excellent customer service standards to students and staff by responding to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
- Create laundry dry cleaning slips for students
- Perform other duties as required
We seek candidates with the following credentials:
- Post-secondary training in sewing techniques and garment construction
- Several years of practical and/or industrial sewing experience
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision
- A current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
