We invite applications for a part-time opportunity in the role of Seamstress beginning mid-August 2025. This position will directly support the needs of the Sewing Centre by providing sewing services to the school community.
Responsibilities in this role will include:
20-30 hours per week with additional hours based on school events
Operate and maintain industrial and domestic sewing machines, including sergers and related equipment
Provide alteration and mending services for student clothing
Embroidery machine epaulettes for Cadets
Design, produce, repair, and maintain draperies for school windows
Repair Cadet uniforms and produce specialized items such as shoe spats
Sew school crests on jackets, athletic uniforms, and other garments
Maintain a visible and welcoming presence in the Sewing Centre to support the school community
Demonstrate excellent customer service standards to students and staff by responding to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
Create laundry dry cleaning slips for students
Perform other duties as required
We seek candidates with the following credentials:
Post-secondary training in sewing techniques and garment construction
Several years of practical and/or industrial sewing experience
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision
A current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
