We invite applications for a full-time opportunity in the role of University Counsellor, primarily reporting to the Head of University Counselling at St. Andrew’s College, and in part, to the Director of Academics at St. Anne’s School.
The University Counsellor will work collaboratively with the University Counselling team at St. Andrew’s College (SAC) and support St. Anne’s School (SAS) to provide individualized university and post-secondary counselling. The role supports students and families in making informed decisions grounded in academic profile, personal goals, and best-fit institutions.
The successful candidate will manage an assigned portfolio of students and guide them through course selection and academic planning to ensure alignment with graduation requirements and post-secondary admission expectations. This work includes regular progress meetings with students and their parents or guardians.
The University Counsellor will support all aspects of the university application process for Canadian, U.S., and international institutions, including application timelines, transcripts, reference letters, essays, personal profiles, and supplementary materials. The role requires monitoring and clearly communicating key deadlines, requirements, and institutional expectations to ensure students remain organized and well supported throughout the application cycle.
As a primary liaison between SAC, SAS, and post-secondary institutions, the University Counsellor will assist in coordinating university visits, admissions presentations, and on-campus post-secondary fairs. They will also contribute to the design and delivery of university counselling programming for students and families, including information sessions and workshops.
Qualifications & Attributes
- A relevant university degree is required.
- Demonstrated interest in acquiring additional qualifications to support the University Counselling department’s programming, including NCAA-related applications.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Ontario Ministry of Education’s current curriculum and graduation requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and confidence with students and families.
- Capacity to contribute positively to the broader life of the school, including coaching or co-curricular responsibilities.
- A clear appreciation of the university counselling role within the broader context of a student’s academic and personal journey.

The salary for this position is dependent on qualifications and experience and will range from $75,000 to $125,000.
