Brandon Chow wins AI awards

Grade 12 student Brandon Chow joined the Canadian team at the inaugural International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence held in Burgas, Bulgaria, this summer, bringing home a silver and a bronze medal.
This prestigious global event, held Aug. 9-15, gathered teams of outstanding high school students, who are passionate and skilled in artificial intelligence to solve complex, real-world challenges. Competing against some of the brightest young minds, Brandon and the team earned remarkable success, securing a silver medal in the Practical Round and a bronze in the Scientific Round.
This achievement highlights Brandon’s hard work, dedication, and talent in AI.
Brandon was also one of the SAC students who attended the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) Canada 2024 AI Training Program in July. This five-day program allowed them to demonstrate the integrity of the SAC Robotics program by pouring their pride and knowledge into every aspect of the training program.
“Brandon Chow has demonstrated both passion and outstanding performance throughout the training program. His ability to address complex AI challenges and problems with innovative solutions earned him well-deserved recognition and awards,” stated a letter from the president of IOAI Canada to Head of School, Kevin McHenry.
