SAC VEX Robotics Teams Shine at Glenforest School Robotics Tournament
On November 23, four St. Andrew's College VEX Robotics teams competed at Glenforest School against 30 teams from across the region. After 45 intense qualification matches, SAC teams achieved outstanding results, with three of our teams ranking in the top 10: 4th, 5th, and 9th place.
In the playoff rounds, all four SAC teams advanced to the quarterfinals, demonstrating exceptional skill and teamwork under pressure. Team 97779X’s journey continued to the semi-finals, where they faced off against the eventual tournament champions. Their performance, resilience, and ability to perform under pressure have set a strong foundation for future success in the Provincial tournament.
In a testament to their Andrean character, the tournament champions remarked that they had considered partnering with Team 97779X for the playoff alliance because they "liked" them better than higher-ranked teams. This recognition speaks volumes about the sportsmanship and camaraderie displayed by our students.
Congratulations to teams 97779A, 97779B, 97779X, and 97779Y for representing St. Andrew's College with pride and distinction. A special shoutout to Team 97779X for also earning the prestigious “Build” award—a true testament to their ingenuity and craftsmanship.
