Our son Graeme will graduate from SAC in June 2013 after attending the School from grade 6 through grade 12. It has been an extraordinary journey for him, and one that we, as his parents, have had the privilege and joy to be able to share along the way.
The teachers, the School leadership team, and the support staff have provided an inspiring environment for Graeme to challenge himself academically. The School’s understanding of ways to nurture academic curiosity and achievement in boys continues to impress us year after year. The wide variety of teaching methods used, which focus heavily on hands-on, activity based learning, has truly suited Graeme and kept him engaged in school life at St. Andrew’s College from early in the morning to late at night for much of the School year.
From involvement in drama productions, the Pipes & Drums, school trips, numerous athletic teams and leadership as a Prefect, Graeme has had the opportunity to participate in many diverse extracurricular options. All of these activities have helped him develop confidence in his own abilities, experience and skills working in groups toward a shared goal and have provided many opportunities to develop as a leader.
Through all of these activities, Graeme has made lifelong friendships with many special young men. As we live close to the School, we have had many of the students visit our home over the years and they have always been respectful, polite and dedicated to their studies, sports teams and other commitments. We will miss having them visit us, and we wish each of them the best for the future.
We are absolutely certain that attending St. Andrew’s College was the right decision for Graeme and know that St. Andrew’s will always play an important part in his life.
