SAC Shines at Winter Fulford Debate

Six St. Andrew’s College students travelled to Bishop Strachan School (BSS) to compete in the Winter Fulford Debate Tournament. This prestigious event drew talented young debaters from across the region, eager to showcase their skills in a mix of impromptu and prepared rounds.

Representing SAC were Liam Milenov, Beric Dengler, Finn Kearns, Sehaj Bawa, Suleiman Ahmad, and Dhruv Murali. Each student tackled three rounds of debate, sparring on a variety of thought-provoking topics. The competition was fierce, but the Andreans rose to the occasion with poise, critical thinking, and eloquence.

A standout performance came from Liam Milenov, who secured second place overall in the senior category, narrowly missing first place by an astonishing margin of just 0.1 points. However, in the Senior team category, the duo of Liam and Beric Dengler had a combined score to win first place, bringing the coveted Senior team trophy back to SAC for the first time since 2008.

The victory marked a historic milestone for the school and served as a testament to the dedication, teamwork, and intellectual rigour of the SAC debate team. Congratulations to all participants for their stellar performances!
