Affordability can be a major factor in considering not only if but when to send your son to St. Andrew’s College. The Andrean community is fortunate to have a loyal group of alumni and current and past parents committed to making the College accessible to all. Through a combination of the School’s endowment and a small portion of operating revenue, SAC offers a generous Scholarship & Bursary program.
Typically 26% of our student population are the beneficiaries of either a scholarship or bursary. Our budget for the 2022-2023 admission cycle is $3.1M. Scholarships are merit-based and awarded upon entrance to SAC. Every element of a boy’s application is closely evaluated and a prospective student will compete against other incoming students in his grade.
In order to qualify for a bursary, a student must have completed the application process and be considered acceptable to SAC. Parents must file a Financial Aid for Canadian Students (FACS) application through Apple Financial Services. The following
letter details the process. Once the recommendation is received from Apple, a family’s financial aid application is reviewed by the Financial Aid Committee. While SAC does provide a wide range of bursary support, unfortunately not all deserving candidate requests can be accommodated.
SAC does not provide full scholarship or bursary support. Our guiding philosophy is to partner with a family in bridging the gap between their demonstrated financial need and the full cost of sending their son to SAC. A family must be prepared to invest in their child’s education to a comfortable level. Families must apply for bursary renewal on a yearly basis. Should a family’s income remain reasonably static through a boy’s tenure at SAC, renewal of your award at previous levels is typical. In order for a scholarship or bursary to be renewed, a current student’s November and March reports are evaluated. Students must perform in an exemplary fashion academically, have no disciplinary issues, and participate fully in school life through athletics and other co-curricular offerings.
