YEAR ONE: AP SEMINAR COURSE

In the first year, students will develop and strengthen their analytical and inquiry skills. They will explore, consider, and discuss real-world topics from many different perspectives while developing their personal opinions, communicating effective arguments, and presenting a collaboratively researched project.

This course aims to prepare students to evaluate and analyze information and communicate evidence-based arguments at a university level.

YEAR TWO: AP RESEARCH COURSE

In the AP Research course, students engage in comprehensive mentored exploration of a real-world topic through research, analysis, and synthesis of information. The course culminates in the production and oral defence of a major written paper of 5,000 words. Building on the AP Seminar course, AP Research aims to prepare students for the rigours of university-level thinking, research, and writing.

Students will gain a rich appreciation for the complexity of important issues. Students will be encouraged to explore a topic through several of the following lenses:
